April Lockhart
April Lockhart is a born July 4th in 1995. When she was in the 7th grade she began to take piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion for music writing. April's first song was Different which she composed at the age of 12. As April approached 14 years old, she devoted long hours making song concepts and perfecting the music. She began writing with her dad in NY and LA soon after. April featured other topics in her song"Take my Hand. These topics were for friends that dealt with things like peer pressure and disabilities, or even teenage suicidal thinking. Lockhart has her own following and works as a lifestyle blogger with the popular Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. Her birth was without a left hand, and it's part of her story, but that's not the entire story. Lockhart's profile on Twitter doesn't ignore the fact that she is disabled, but neither does it focus on it. What message is it sending? The message? We are all multifaceted, and that our identity and physical bodies aren't what they seem. Lockhart in a video messages from his Nashville home, states that I do not want my physical appearance to define me. I'm much greater than the physical person I am. My daily life isn't affected by it. I live my normal day-to-day life and discover my own solutions to problems. It's a big part of my life, so it is important to talk about it. Lockhart, a real source of inspiration for anyone who wants to be self-accepting and is currently on a lengthy process to attain the goal. Even so, Lockhart admits having moments of feeling uneasy about her appearance, and the clothes with arms. She dresses according to her preferences and proudly posts pictures of herself wearing the clothes she chooses on social media. She says that self-love is a process. It's not clear when you'll reach the final stage. It's a journey, I'm not sure you'll ever reach your destination.
